It has continued to be crazy around our house.
Good news is that we have a contract on one rental property!
We have an accepted contract on a home to buy as our primary residence.
We still need to sell our current home and the other rental will be vacated about the middle of the month so that we can begin preparing it to sell.
Still have a pinched nerve in my back causing numbness in my hand, which is now leading to loss of muscle strength.....ugh......
God is still good, and we know that He has a plan!
So, how do you decompress from insanely busy? Share your strategies with each other and try them out to see if they might work for you, too.
May you be blessed ~

Greetings in the precious name of Jesus.....
It's been absolutely crazy over here.
We've decided to downsize which means we're selling our home and rental properties, and buying something smaller with the goal of being mortgage free.
I've been running all kinds of errands, meeting with the realtor and contractor (who has done some fabulous work on one rental thus far) and preparing our house to sell.
I'm honestly feeling a bit overwhelmed.
One really good thing that happened yesterday was that we picked up the awesome truck that we found to replace my husband's totaled Ranger from the auto accident. (see previous post)
We found a 1999 Ford F150 in super condition with only 61,000 miles on it - looks pratically showroom new
We are so grateful!
I must be off to attend other things, but have some fun chatting and sharing with each other what your dream vehicle is.
Be safe, and be blessed ~

Grace and Peace to you in the name of Jesus,
It's been a bit of a long weekend over here which followed a few weeks of not posting
It's just been busy. That's not much of an explanation, but it's the one that we all seem to use. And it's true - life is just busy. Most often occuring at a breakneck pace. Sigh...........
Last Thursday, my husband was involved in a motor vehicle accident which ended up shutting down all northbound lanes of a nearby freeway.
I would like to thank God and proclaim that through His grace and protection, he suffered no injuries! None!!
His Ford Ranger flipped onto the driver's side after the initial impact and then proceeded to slide into three other lanes of traffic. He climbed out through the passenger door (assisted by some very kind people,) and suffered not one injury. Neither did anyone else involved.
I won't risk going into too much detail and boring you, but know that our God daily gives us miracles wrapped in His grace!!
With an extremely grateful heart ~

A simple question on the home page for this week.
How may I pray for you today?
If it's been a while since you've asked this question of each other, start creating this daily habit now - you'll be glad that you did.
You'll know what is on the other's heart.
Praying for each other will only draw you closer.
Have a lovely week in the Lord ~

Here goes....we are thinking about making another move.....just thinking at this point.
We both have features that we would like in any home that we purchase.
Between the two of you, talk about one story vs two story; large yard or small yard; carpet, tile, hardwood, or vinyl flooring?
What types of fixures are important to each of you? Do you prefer an open floor plan or not?
Large or small kitchen? Gas or electric stove?
Indoor laundry room? (When we were first married, ours was in the garage. I have been thankful that every other house we've lived in has had an indoor laundry room.....when I was growing up, we actually had to step out the back door and into the laundry room - which was essentially in the garage, but we couldn't acess it through the garage - it was crazy working on laundry when the weather was rainy!)
Do you want a shower or bathtub - or both in the master bath?
How many bedrooms? Formal living or dining? Gameroom or mancave? Study or craft room? Two car garage or perhaps three?
Would you prefer something that needs some TLC and fix it up yourselves, or do you want a move in ready home?
When you are searching, are things like school districts and tax rates something that you look at? (Right now, we're thinking hard about tax rates as ours have been steadily rising....sigh)
So many things to think about!
Just a tip - drive through any prospective neighborhoods at night to check out how many folks park on the street. In our neighborhood, it has increased seemingly exponentially since we moved here....it's becoming a challenge just to enter or leave the subdivision sometimes because street parking prevents two vehicles from passing each other.
Good thing a house isn't a lifelong committment, isn't it?
Have a grand day in the Lord ~

Greetings in the name of Jesus,
We've now entered Holy Week, and I'm wondering what you personally do to prepare spiritually for Easter.
Are you someone who likes to wend your way through the Lenten season and then begin building the intensity during Holy Week?
We begin with Palm Sunday, then remember Maundy Thursday when Christ instituted Communion as the new covenant.
Do you enter the depths of Good Friday with a heavy heart knowing that your sins, along with those of everyone else were what held Him to the cross?
I am one of those who want to work my way through Lent and then remember the triumphal entry into Jerusalem, followed later in the week with the Last Supper after which Christ was arrested, and finally immerse myself in the depths of Good Friday before celebrating the triumph and joy of Easter morning.
What is it that you each like to do?
Have a heartfelt chat about that this week.
Go back to the Gospels and begin reading in each when Palm Sunday or the Passover is beginning, through to the end.
May the joy and victory of Easter be with you now and always ~
P.S. How are you doing in praying for our elected officials so far this year, now that the first quarter has passed?

I cannot remember if I have recommended this link before, but I am currently listening to a Focus on the Family broadcast featuring Ravi Zacharias regarding the process of selecting a mate - and having others help you with the process.
The broadcast is in two parts so it will take about an hour to listen to both of them.
Here is the link for part one: http://www.focusonthefamily.com/media/daily-broadcast/i-isaac-take-you-rebekah-pt1?utm_campaign=I%2C+Isaac%2C+Take+You%2C+Rebekah&utm_medium=email&utm_source=nl_dailybroadcast
Here is the link for part two: http://www.focusonthefamily.com/media/daily-broadcast/i-isaac-take-you-rebekah-pt2?utm_campaign=I%2C+Isaac%2C+Take+You%2C+Rebekah&utm_medium=email&utm_source=nl_dailybroadcast
He is full of thoughtful and wise advice as well as laughter
The links should be good for about one month.
Enjoy listening ~

Greetings in Jesus,
I generally try to keep off the computer over the weekends, and for sure on Sundays.
Today happens to be Sunday and I'm updating the web site.
That didn't work out too well for me this week, did it?
I have been so busy the past few weeks that my inbox almost took on a life of its own, and I've been going through it, weeding out, reading, responding, etc... to all the emails that I've tried to ignore over the past couple of weeks.
I have this grand opportunity because my hubby had to work quite a bit this weekend so I'm taking advantage of that and crossing some things off of my to do list.
Good news is that it's done!!
However, I generally try to stay off the computer, away from email and technology as much as possible on the weekends and for sure on Sundays. I much prefer to spend time with family, reading, creating cards, planning projects, etc...
What about you?
Have you thought about designating any days as 'No Tech' or 'Little Tech As Possible'?
If you haven't, perhaps you should give it a try - you might find that you like it!
Grace and peace in Jesus ~

Greetings in the name of our Lord,
I hope that this finds all is well.
We have officially begun the season of spring!
After having lots of wonderful company last week, we are getting back into our school routine.
I've actually been working on some projects that I wanted to do over Spring Break, but wasn't able to get to.
Painting the new back door interior and exterior (installed before Christmas last year.... I know.....I'm horribly behind on this project)
And - you guessed it - Spring Cleaning!
We're getting rid of dust and cobwebs, wiping down cabinets, etc....regular cleaning chores plus ones that are on the quarterly / bi-yearly / yearly lists.
It feels good to know that things are being cleaned!
I've also enjoyed using some homemade non-toxic cleaners - no noxious fumes but pleasant essential oils. I still need to purchase a diffuser.
Check out Edens Garden if you would like to think about making your own cleansers...we also make face washes and scrubs using essentail oils and honey - it's wonderful.
Here is the web address: https://www.edensgarden.com/ (they offer free shipping on all US orders!)
Have a lovely day in the Lord ~

Greetings in the name of Jesus,
I know, I know....
We don't like talking about these things.
'These things' being discussions regarding your end of life decsions.
I'm thinking about it because a beloved uncle passed away last week. We will dearly miss him.
He was a true hero!
Literally.... he was an air force veteran who served our country and fought for and guarded our safety and our freedoms.
Personally, he was so good to us, and we look forward to seeing him again in eternity.
So, I'm thinking about these types of decisions this week. He is not the first family member who will be cremated.
What are your thoughts on this?
Have you thought this far ahead?
Would you prefer to be an organ donor?
Would you prefer to be embalmed and buried, or cremated?
If you want to be cremated, would you request that your ashes be scattered or buried?
What are your preferences regarding life support?
Just a few questions to get the conversation started.
May the Lord bless you with good health and family who will help you through the times when you struggle.
